Can tiedowns be used without roof racks?

Use tiedowns only as part of a carrying method approved for the vehicle and load. Follow the vehicle, rack and strap instructions rather than assuming one routing works for every car.

How tight should surfboard straps be?

They should secure the board without crushing the rails or damaging the vehicle. Follow the strap directions, check the board cannot shift and recheck the load after driving.

Do lockable tiedowns prevent all theft?

No. Lockable straps can deter opportunistic theft, but they do not make an unattended board risk-free. Park carefully and avoid leaving equipment exposed longer than necessary.

How should a key lock be used at the beach?

Attach and close it only at a secure point allowed by the product directions, scramble the combination and keep it out of obvious view where possible. Confirm the key fits before relying on it.

Are surf wax air fresheners actual board wax?

No. The scented car products in this collection are air fresheners and should not be applied to a surfboard.
