Resin

Shop TSS surfboard resin and repair systems, including polyester laminating and filler resin, epoxy-compatible UV repair resin, polyester UV repair resin, fibre-fill resin and complete repair kits. Check the board construction before choosing. Polyester products are for compatible PU and polyester boards and must not be used on EPS foam. Use an epoxy-compatible product for EPS or epoxy boards. Select clear resin, filler resin, fibre-fill or a cloth-based kit according to the depth and structure of the damage.

Buying help

How do I know whether I need epoxy or polyester resin?

Check the board label, manufacturer information or original construction. If the foam is EPS or the board is epoxy, use an epoxy-compatible product. Do not use polyester resin on EPS foam.

What is the difference between filler resin and fibre-fill resin?

Filler resin is used for compatible finish coats, small surface work and repairs with cloth. Fibre-fill resin contains reinforcement to build chips, cracks or holes where more body is needed.

How does UV cure resin work?

UV resin cures when exposed to a suitable UV light source or sunlight. Preparation, repair thickness and light conditions affect the result, so follow the product instructions rather than relying on one fixed cure time.

When should I use laminating resin?

Use laminating resin to wet out fibreglass cloth on a compatible board or build. It is different from a sandable filler or finish coat.

Should a large ding be repaired at home?

Home products suit small, dry damage when the construction and process are understood. Structural damage, waterlogged foam, delamination, damaged boxes or uncertain repairs should be assessed professionally.

The Surfboard Studio makes its own repair kits and carries resin systems for different surfboard constructions. If you are unsure, send the workshop the board construction and clear photos of the damage before choosing a product.
