What are fin rovings?

Fin rovings are continuous fibreglass strands used to reinforce the base of a glass-on fin. The TSS roving product recommends wetting them out and reinforcing the fin with fibreglass cloth on both sides.

Does every product in this collection include a complete fin set?

No. The collection includes construction materials as well as finished fin products. Read the product title, variants and contents before ordering.

How do I choose a glass-on fin template?

Match the fin height, base, foil and flex to the board design and intended setup. Also confirm whether the product is supplied for glass-on installation or another base system.

Can a removable-system fin be glassed on instead?

Do not assume it can. Fin bases are designed for specific installation methods, so choose a fin intended for the planned build rather than modifying an incompatible base.

When should a glass-on installation be done professionally?

Get experienced help if fin position, toe, cant, resin compatibility or the reinforcement schedule is unclear. Errors in layout or lamination are difficult to correct after cure.

TSS supplies its own branded fin roving alongside finished fin products and surfboard glassing materials. Contact TSS with your board design, fin setup and resin system if you need help confirming the required materials.
