The Surfboards Studio is offering Shaping Bay Hire (no glassing). Our shaping bays include custom surfboard shaping stands, air compressors and extraction fans.
BAY HIRE
Minimum of 3 hours. Must be pre-paid.$30 p/h
EXTRA HOURS
Charged at$20 p/h Paid on completion of of board (Cash or Credit Card avaialble on site).
TOOLS & MATERIALS
SHAPING TOOLS AVAILABLE
Rasps, Planes, Saws, Files, Shavers, Electric Drills and Routers.
ABRASIVES AVAILABLE
Up to 9 different sanding pads [various grits] available.
MEASURING TOOLS AVAILABLE
Layout Square, Rulers, Compass’, Gauges, Protractors, Callipers and fin/plug markers.
SHAPING BLOCKS AVAILABLE
Flexpads, Foam Pads, Shapers Block.
CNC BLANK CUTTING
Pre Shapes sizes must be ordered 2 weeks before your allotted bay hire date.
BOARD PACKING
All boards can be safely bubble wrapped for their trip home or to the glassers.
IMPORTANT INFORMATION
Bay Hire is best suited to shapers at intermediate, advanced or expert levels of shaping experience and is not suited to novice shapers. If you are at a novice level it is recommended that you up-skill via The Surfboard Studio's shaping course or the Make Your Own Board course before attempting to shape your own blank. Tuition is not included within the bay hire fee structure. We are not liable for novice shaping errors, which are common in the early stages of surfboard shaping.
SHAPING ONLY
Bay hire is primarily for shaping only. Glassing bays are unable to be hired out.
